Bladex successfully places MXN4 billion in debt with the backing of BBVA Mexico
BBVA Mexico accompanied Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior, S.A. (Bladex) in its latest 2024 debt issuance on the local market, consolidating its position as a strategic partner in investment banking operations in Latin America. The issue totaled MXN4 billion and was oversubscribed by 2.77 times the initial target amount of MXN2billion.
The transaction was structured in a 3.3-year floating rate format, pegged to the 28-day TIIE, at a spread of 38 basis points. The transaction was widely participated in by the local investor base, including Afores, mutual funds, insurance companies, brokerage firms, independent advisors and private banks, reflecting widespread confidence in Bladex's financial strength and the region's economic potential.
With more than 40 years of experience, Bladex has established a solid franchise in Latin America, leveraging its in-depth knowledge of market risks and opportunities to drive the development of foreign trade. This successful deal reaffirms its position as a recurring issuer in the Mexican debt market and its ability to attract capital to support regional growth.
