BBVA Mexico participated as Joint Bookrunner in the successful issuance of USD800 million in senior unsecured notes for GRUMA, S.A.B. de C.V. (GRUMA), a world leader in the production of corn flour and tortillas.

The transaction was structured in two tranches:

  • USD500 million with a coupon of 5.39%, coming due in 2034.

The proceeds will be used by GRUMA to refinance existing bank debt payable between 2025 and 2027, improving its maturity profile and strengthening its financial position. The remainder will be used for general corporate purposes.
