Inversiones CMPC, accompanied by BBVA, successfully floats its first issue of Notes totaling MXN3.2 billion, on the Mexican market

 

BBVA México assisted CMPC, S.A. in its inaugural placement of long-term Notes, through two successful issues of MXN1.6 billion each, for a total of MXN3.2 billion pesos.

 

The first placement, with ticker symbol CMPC 23V, was a labelled green bond at 2 years, and at an adjustable rate pegged to the 28-day TIIE with a spread fo 80 basis points.

 

The second, with ticker CMPC 23L, was a sustainability-linked bond (SLB), whose key performance indicator (KPI) is the reduction of absolute scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions. This format was issued at a term of 9 years and a rate of 10.62%, which was set based on the Interpolated MBono rate (31-33) at 8.58%.

 

The deal was well received by the market, reaching a bid-to-cover ratio of 1.37 times the amount assigned. The bonds were placed across a wide base of institutional investors—mutual funds, Afores and insurance firms, complemented by the participation of brokerage firms, money desks and private bankers.

 

The issue was rated AAA(mex) by Fitch and HR AAA by HR Ratings. The proceeds of the CMPC 23V issue will be used to finance all or part of the sustainable projects that meet the eligibility criteria defined in the Green Bond or Sustainability-Linked Bond Framework Program.
