BBVA CIB strengthens its specialization in the TMT sector with two key hires

BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) continues to solidify its leadership in advising the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) sector with the appointment of Mathew Harvey as Managing Director, responsible for Technology coverage in the U.S., and Matthew Marmanillo as Managing Director, responsible for Technology & Media in Europe.

BBVA CIB is reinforcing its position in the TMT sector by expanding its team and developing advanced financial solutions tailored to the needs of an ever-evolving industry. As part of its sector-focused strategy, the business unit is strengthening its teams in Europe and North America with two strategic hires aimed at enhancing its presence in key markets.

With the fast development of AI and continues globalization we see the need to support our clients in their investment and growth as well as providing capabilities to operate seamlessly in multiple geographies.  

Strengthening technology coverage in key markets

To further enhance its expertise in the technology sector across the U.S. and Europe, BBVA CIB has appointed Mathew Harvey as Managing Director, responsible for Technology coverage in the United States, and Matthew Marmanillo as Managing Director, responsible for Technology & Media in Europe.

Mathew Harvey brings extensive experience from leading financial institutions such as BNP Paribas, where he served as Managing Director for Technology for 14 years, and Standard Chartered, where he led TMT coverage for four years. His deep understanding of the U.S. technology ecosystem and his ability to build strategic relationships with high-growth clients will be key to strengthening BBVA CIB’s offering in this segment.

Matthew Marmanillo joins BBVA CIB as Managing Director, responsible for Technology & Media in Europe, based in the firm’s London office. Before joining BBVA, Marmanillo held senior roles at Citibank for over 21 years, where he led TMT sector coverage in EMEA and served as Head of Corporate Banking for Technology & Communications in the UK. With a strong background in financial advisory and deal structuring for technology and media companies, his expertise will help sector firms optimize their financing strategies.

With these appointments, BBVA CIB is enhancing its ability to support technology companies in optimizing their financial structures and adapting to a constantly evolving market.
