BBVA expands its Sustainability business in the U.S. with new Houston hire
BBVA expands its sustainability advisory capabilities in the U.S. with the appointment of Antonio Montero Pérez as Executive Director on the Sustainability and Low Carbon Advisory team, based in Houston. This new hire will positively impact BBVA’s sustainable business, strategic partnerships and leadership in advisory.
BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking continues to strengthen its strategic commitment to sustainability by providing specific solutions to assist clients with their sustainable investment needs.
To expand its strategic growth, BBVA CIB is proud to announce the recent appointment of Antonio Montero Pérez as Executive Director on the Sustainability and Low Carbon Transition Advisory team, part of the Global Advisory team at BBVA CIB. The Sustainability and Low Carbon Transition Advisory team, a highly specialized technical team, remains committed to supporting BBVA’s clients in the implementation and execution of their sustainable strategies, with a particular focus on energy transition and low-carbon power opportunities. The addition of Antonio is part of BBVA’s strategy in the U.S. to become the top bank of choice for sustainability financing.
Commitment with the energy transition
Based in Houston, Antonio will be responsible for supporting BBVA's clients' strategic development efforts in the areas of energy, decarbonization and sustainability, and for identifying innovative business opportunities, including investment banking products, global markets, and sustainable financing solutions. Antonio will focus on understanding clients’ investment needs and strategic decisions. His in-depth experience will make a difference in achieving BBVA’s strategic sustainability goals and will be an advantage across the energy value chain.
Prior to BBVA, Antonio served as a project leader at Boston Consulting Group, where he led the evaluation of several low-carbon and cleantech opportunities for energy and industrial companies to positively impact the execution of their growth plans and sustainability. During his career, he gained technology and financial experience working for leading companies on a wide range of projects in Europe and U.S. Some of his work has particularly focused on building and growing business platforms in renewables, storage, geothermal, carbon capture and storage, and low-carbon fuels. In addition, Antonio has expertise in data centers sustainability and circularity.
