BBVA Securities Inc. continues to grow its institutional business platform offerings with new hire

BBVA Securities Inc. (BSI) continues its strategic expansion in the U.S. with the appointment of Sarah A. Swammy, Ph.D. as Managing Director, based in New York. This new hire reinforces BBVA’s growing presence in institutional business.

 

BBVA Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) continues to add exceptional value to both its U.S. clients and international clients. In addition, BSI keeps investing to be fully equipped to serve the needs of institutional clients, such as banks, insurance companies, financial sponsors, and asset managers globally and in the U.S. 

 

Therefore, BBVA CIB recently hired Sarah A. Swammy, Ph.D. as Managing Director of BBVA Securities Inc. (BSI) to lead and further develop its broker dealer infrastructure and strategically expand its institutional business platform offerings. 

 

With over 20 years of capital markets and risk experience, Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to BBVA CIB. Prior to joining BBVA CIB, Sarah served in chief operating officer and senior business oversight roles in global risk and markets analytics, risk management and controls, and capital markets at major international financial institutions, including Bank of America, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Wells Fargo, State Street, and BNY Mellon. 

 

Sarah will report to Lucho Alarcon, Head of US Global Markets at BBVA, and Peter Jensen, CEO of BSI.
